Outdoor Learning
Habitat walk
We wandered through the woods close to school and looked for plants and animals that live there. We identified bluebells, anemones, beech, oak, hawthorn from leaves and flowers. We heard red kites, pigeons and great tits. Amongst the leaf litter we found slugs, centipedes and millipedes.
As part of our geography learning, we went outdoors to create a giant compass, using the position of the sunrise and sunset to help us. We then added the mid points. We used this learning to locate countries of Europe using the 8 points of the compass and an atlas. Which country is north west of Italy?
